An educational field visit was organized on 10 April 2026 by the Department of Panchakarma, Bhausaheb Mulak Ayurved Mahavidyalay, Nandanwan, Nagpur. The visit was conducted at Med Ayu Panchakarma Centre, Shankarpur, Nagpur, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the objective of providing practical exposure to students in the field of Panchakarma therapy.
The visit began at 10:00 AM with an introductory session conducted by the staff of the centre. The experts briefed the students about the fundamentals of Panchakarma, its significance in Ayurvedic treatment, and the importance of detoxification therapies in maintaining health and treating diseases.
During the visit, students were given a detailed demonstration of various Panchakarma procedures such as Abhyanga (therapeutic massage), Swedana (sudation therapy), Vamana (emesis therapy), Virechana (purgation therapy), Basti (medicated enema), and Nasya (nasal administration of medicines). The therapists explained the indications, contraindications, and step-by-step procedures of each therapy.
Students also observed the setup and infrastructure of the Panchakarma centre, including treatment rooms, equipment, and hygiene protocols. The practitioners emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, proper patient care, and adherence to classical Ayurvedic guidelines during treatments.
The interactive session allowed students to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding practical applications, patient handling, and treatment outcomes. This helped in enhancing their understanding beyond theoretical knowledge.
The visit concluded at 1:00 PM. Overall, the field visit was highly informative and beneficial for the students, as it provided real-world exposure to Panchakarma practices and enriched their clinical understanding.
